The journey from Khao Sok National Park to Phuket took us slightly more than 3hours. If you happen to be Phuket, a day trip or a tour to Khao Sok can be arranged from Phuket.

Ask my cousin’s wife, a Thai, about this monument. That is the names of Thao Thep Kasattri and Thao Sri Sunthon, sisters who defended Phuket during Burmese invasion.

Patong Beach

We checked into RCB Hotel which is near Patong Beach. It was very reasonably priced if you bargained hard enough. There is buffet breakfast, a swimming pool at the top floor and 15minutes walking distance from Bangla Street and other shopping centre like Jungceylon.
Need husband sitting while the ladies enjoy themselves?

I look many photos of the Jet Ski before I brought it out lest the vendors accuse me of scratching their Jet Ski.

Bungee Jumping

I am an adrenaline junkie, so bungee jumping is not something to be missed when it is available near me. Probably I am already inured to jumping around on my legs and dirtbike, I don’t find the jump itself scary, but standing on the ledge, looking down and contemplating on the jump is nauseating.

There were milliseconds of moment I thought, “What the f*** am I doing here? No, I shouldn’t be doing this.”Then, I went, “F*** it! Just get it over and done wi…..” Off I leaned forward, propelling straight to the pond below by gravity. The air gushing into throat turned my high pitched scream into a duck croak. Once I took the leap, whatever fear in me was released, the burden of decision was lifted, the decision was made when I stepped off the ledge, there is nothing to be done, my life depends on the bungee cord now.

A sort of liberation, relief overcame me when my life temporarily depended on an inanimate object that holds no expectation of me.

Drago Andaman

The year before Weng and Sharon went to Phuket on their Vespa and made connection with Drago Andaman, distributors and servicing agents for Vespas. Like last year, the owner gave us stickers and t-shirts. He gave us lots of recommendation for accommodation and places to visit around Phuket Town. As Drago Andaman is very near the Phuket Weekend Market, he offered us to park in front of their shop where there is CCTV.

A 40 year old vintage beauty that the owner will never sell. It is still ridable k.

Legend says that Phuket Island is a dragon in the Andaman Sea. That is why their business is called Drago Andaman.

Phuket Vespa Club and Shop

We went to visit the Phuket Vespa Club and Shop. We kind of lost our way but were near the shop. A Vespa rider happened to ride in the opposite direction and spotted us lost souls. He made U-turn to meet us. So happen that he has the club sticker and he guided us there.

It was a humble little shop hidden behind a drink stall. Had it not for the few Vespa that were parked outside, anybody would have easily missed the shop.

Weng wanted to buy some parts from Anurak and he bought us to his home to see some Vespas.

Big Buddha of Phuket

The Big Buddha of Phuket relies on donations and has yet to be completed since a few years back. I am not a practising Buddhist but the image of Buddha always bring serenity in me. I was not brought up in any particular religion but I could always relate to his teachings as a secular person.

The view from the Big Buddhist is gorgeous!

Promthep Cape

A popular sunset watching spot and for photography enthusiast. Usually quiet until before sunsets when tourists and locals flock in. It is easy to climb down but arduous to climb back up.

The real Crocs.
Is there really a need to depict the wee wee?

Soi Dog Foundation

Sharon and I are animal lovers. Both of us have heard of Soi Dog Foundation and she has been there before. I came to be aware of them through Facebook during a period of bad flooding in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand.

Many pets were left behind when families evacuated the area. Some were still trapped in cages, with no way to fend for themselves if the flood comes.

I made a donation and thereafter frequently receive newsletters and read about their work and rescue and adoption stories.

Finally, I get to visit the place!

Once we were there, we were greeted by Tatiana (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) who volunteered to bring us around the facility.

This dog run was built for the less domineering dogs who are always getting bullied.
These dogs have been adopted and are waiting for their flight to their new homes.
